Property Industry Joins Forces for Dementia UK
Lincolnshire-based estate agents Pygott and Crone, outsourced communications provider Moneypenny and Relocation Agent Network (RAN) have joined forces to pound the pavements this January as they take on a 100km charity challenge.
The organisations have joined forces to organise the challenge which will raise money for Dementia UK. More than 120 employees, suppliers and partners are taking to the streets, hills and parks to walk, run or cycle 100km each before 31st January 2022.
Kevin Scrupps, Director of Pygott and Crone said: “Following the huge success of last year’s 100k challenge for charity, we wanted to organise another, this time with help from our friends at Moneypenny and Relocation Agent Network. There are many deserving charities, but the decision to support Dementia UK was easy as this cruel disease has affected many of us personally.
“We are so lucky in our industry as estate agents, partners and industry suppliers always answer a call for support. When you consider that many of these people give their time to charity events all year round, we are privileged they were willing to get involved with this too.”
The challenge has already clocked up 6,000 km and expects to cover a significant 12,000 km – equivalent to the distance between the UK and Chile – by the end of the challenge.
Joanne Tattum, Head of Estate Agent sector at Moneypenny said: “Having seen the amazing work done by Dementia UK and the Admiral Nurses first-hand, I was thrilled that the proceeds from this year’s challenge will be going to support them, and can’t wait to clock up as many km as possible!”
Calum Jones, a Moneypenny PA said: “I first saw this as an opportunity to get out running and push myself really in terms of cardio but then I found out my close mate’s grandad actually passed away after suffering with dementia for years. So, in a way, I’m now also doing it to help raise awareness on behalf of my friend.”
