Deloitte’s UK legal arm has launched an incubator for lawtech start-ups. The Deloitte Legal Ventures programme is the latest such offering from law firms and will provide “access to consulting, technology, legal and investment experts from across Deloitte” to 14 companies. These companies are developing technologies including those that aim to manage contract automation, emails and documents, to map complex human relationships, to utilise AI for providing legal advice, and one creates online videos for training legal teams in ‘bite size’ chunks. Deloitte’s legal managing partner Michael Castle said: “New technologies have revolutionised a number of industries in recent years, but so far the legal sector has lagged behind.”
