A Deloitte survey suggests that many organizations that have adopted robotics to automate repetitive processes (RPA) are now moving to scale these solutions with artificial intelligence “to go beyond the routine to the innovative.” Executives in 26 countries who responded to the survey about their intelligent automation strategies and its impact on their workforces say they can now transform their business processes and achieve greater speed and accuracy by automating decisions on the basis of structured and unstructured inputs. The survey notes reskilling based on how the workforce will interact with machines should be core to plans for intelligent automation adoption to leverage expected capacity enhancement – but 38% of firms are not yet retraining workers whose roles have changed, according to the survey and 59% of companies piloting automation think they don’t have the necessary workforce capacity and skills.
