Arbnco is to team up with the University of Strathclyde’s Energy Systems Research Unit (ESRU) in a partnership to put Internet of Things building services into everyday use. The project will gather data around Glasgow in buildings where managers and residents will be asked which data are useful to them in cutting energy waste. Data collected will be processed by cloud-based software, giving users real-time data on energy use. The goal is for building owners and operators, such as facilities managers or real estate investment trusts, to be able to view real-time information through a centralised dashboard. This will reduce the time it takes to gather data and allow them to react quickly if issues arise.
