Mark A. Cohen suggests that while business is about doing more with less, “law is about doing less with more.” He identifies a labour-intensive approach to problem solving in the sector, saying it is “designed to produce the ‘best legal product’, no matter the client value.” This, he insists, will change, saying: “Spoiler alert: less is more is coming to the legal industry.” He says this will involve a division of labour that extracts maximum value from the legal workforce, “ensuring that the appropriate resource – human and/or machine – is deployed.”
