Consulting firm Protiviti says boards and executives are increasingly seeing internal audit as a strategic business partner. The company’s latest edition of Internal Auditing Around the World, which shares insights from internal audit leaders across the globe, states that internal audit needs to “actively seek to shift from being a risk- and change-averse function to being a centre for innovation”. A total of 16 organisations were interviewed and their experiences in dealing with these questions are presented as case studies.
