The Economist reports on the likely far-reaching impact of digitisation in supply chains, noting an annual survey from KPMG and supply-chain software firm JDA which found that executives believed cognitive analytics and artificial intelligence to be the technologies that had the highest potential impact on supply chains and were most likely to be adopted. Meanwhile, blockchain and drones were down year-on-year. McKinsey estimates the application of AI to supply chain management and manufacturing could create $2trn of value.
