New analysis from McKinsey suggests modular building offers the construction sector potential savings of up to 20% and could reduce construction time by as much as half. The analysis says ready-made products that can be put together onsite offer quickly scaled production, and the possibility of adding additional capacity delivers greater customisability potential. McKinsey notes that although offsite labour would be 5%-15% more expensive, on-site labour could see cost reductions of between -10% to -25%.
