More than 100,000 NatWest customers have used the bank’s paperless mortgage application since its launch in September 2017.
The service gives customers the opportunity to securely share and verify documents online, and save time. Many mortgage offers are made within 24 hours.
Ian McLaughlin, NatWest’s managing director of home buying and ownership, said: “It’s important that we and the rest of the mortgage industry keep innovating to meet, and ideally to exceed, our customers’ expectations.”
The bank has also been working with FinTech Instant Property Network to trial blockchain technology to see how it can be used to speed up and improve transparency in the conveyancing process.
